Walco Tool and Engineering Corporation is a machining
company that services various industries that require precision machined
parts of very high tech quality / precision. These industries include
aircraft, communications, railroad and food processing. The need for
additional space prompted the client to reevaluate their company's
complete image. The current building consisted of five (5) additions:
two (2) administrative additions on the north and south sides of the
original building, plus three (3) plant additions. The two
administrative sections had different wall, parapet, and roof
construction. These sections had to be linked with the new administrative
addition. The existing entry and mansard facade were dated and the
appearance of the existing building was not representative of their high
technology capabilities, thus necessitating an image change. The Owner
desired the building to reflect their precision work and capabilities to
their local and international clients.
In order to maintain their image philosophy, a high-tech, sleek, precise
product was to be used for the facade. Research was completed including
visits to buildings that utilized various products. From this research,
an aluminum composite panel was selected. The administration addition included: entry / reception, executive offices, conference
room and accounting department. Signage, decor, and furniture all played
a key part in this new image upgrade. |
